December 2024 Newsletter
Hope is a Chosen Path...
From the Board of Directors, our staff, and the residents, we would like to wish you happy holidays! Recently, WFAA Channel 8 news reporter Brittani Moncrease brought a crew out to spotlight our work here at Soul’s Harbor. Pictured above is Brittani interviewing our Board Member, Germaine Gaspard with WFAA cameraman Justin Fuller. The WFAA team highlighted a few key individuals for their contributions to Soul’s Harbor and their own recovery. In the video below you’ll see interviews with our Executive Director – Brent Burmaster, our Kitchen Manager – Rick Dalton, Store Manager – Edward “Stretch” Becker, and Germaine. Germaine Gaspard poignantly pointed out in the video that Soul’s Harbor makes it possible for “mothers to retain their sons, wives to retain their husbands, and for children to retain their fathers.”

Giving Thanks for Your Contribution...
We had an outpouring of responses to our Thanksgiving Dinner appeal. We could not have done it without you. A special thanks to our major donors: Tom Quinn, John Stack Ministries, Unity Church, Hattie Mae Lesley Foundation, Jacobs Family, St. Mathias Church and Deborah Wilhite. I would also like to recognize our thousands of donors that donate furniture, clothes, appliances, and other household items. We are so grateful for all our donors, especially during this holiday season.
The Harbor Needs Your Help
Soul’s Harbor homeless shelter is supported solely by our four thrift stores. You can donate your household items via phone (972-286-1940) or our “Household Donation Request Form” page. We also take automobiles “Vehicle Donation Request Form“. So if you have old clothes, furniture, appliances, household items, or even a car to donate to Soul’s Harbor, either fill out our online form or call our dispatch office at 972-286-1940. Our dispatch office is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
We are sustained solely through our four thrift store sales. We rely on your donated items to support our shelter. At Soul’s Harbor, we would like to thank all our customers that donate their items and also our thrift store customers. Because without our customers, there would be no Soul’s Harbor:
